  about love by Charles Lume

“‘Yes, I mean, so, ok love.’ Some people say,
‘well, good, now you write about love.’
‘Yes, I say. What else. I always have. What else.’
‘No, you don’t understand, love, that’s what it’s all about.’
‘Yes, I say. About love, but that’s not what I mean.’” — William Bronk (transcribed via a sound recording. Punctuation and enjambment questionable.)

I am no troubadour. Only one who wishes to see more clearly what I believe “about love” and its gravities. I don’t pretend to know love or its physics through my cognitive thoughts. For me, it seems to be all internal “heart” knowledge that only can be accessed intuitively. Needless to say, Bronk’s statement, “about love” is as close as I can come to a kind of knowing of love. If I know love at all, it is much like my own beating heart, I have never seen it, but feel its thumping every once in a while. These presented works are those thumpings made visual.
