  lub hurts by Kristi Hyde

I am in the middle of planning my wedding (or Very Special Day, as they say in the trade), and I have Romance Fatigue. I love this image, which I saw at the Cut and Paste Show at Susan Bridges' White Space in Inman Park. The best part is that with only 4 legs between 'em the poor creatures should just flop over & it is maybe only the magic arrow impaling them that keeps them standing...

Writes Kristi Hyde, "It is amazing what you can put together!  Four weeks ago, I was having difficulty even putting a peanut butter and jelly sandwich together due to a painful breakup with my boyfriend.  At the same time I was agreeing to do a cut and paste show showcasing my humor.  I didn’t know where to begin.  I was stuck and all I wanted to do was explode.  So, that’s just what I did…my first piece of cut and paste art of a woman with a missile for a head pressing a big, round, red button.  This piece opened the door for me to create a body of heartfelt work dealing with the absurdity of contemporary relationships through other works like, “She Didn’t Know What To Do, So She Just Sat There With Her Socks On,” to “Lub Hurts,” “Beware of (Love Monster)” and “Gas Station Bathroom.”
