Julie Jones is an interdisciplinary artist who works in drawing, painting and sculpture. Her work is inspired by the abstractions inherent in poetry, philosophy, science and religion, and by the intersections between these concepts and the imagination. Jones writes while working, making lists of words that come to her through stream-of-consciousness. She often uses these lists as artist statements or as starting points for poetry, and regards them both as records of ideas pondered and as insights into her work and process. Julie Jones is based in Atlanta, where she works as a studio artist and an instructor. Additional images of her work can be viewed at www.julie-jones.com. |
