blogbot: what I did last summer
  Alex Dragulescu

bl0gb0t is a software agent in development. First, bl0gb0t crawls the web and takes snapshots of web blogs related to a user-specified theme. Then, based on the harvested text, a dynamic collage of images and strings is generated using a keyword-matching algorithm.

"What I Did Last Summer" is the first experimental graphic novel generated by bl0gb0t, using cached versions of the "My War" blog (written by a US soldier deployed in Iraq, http://cbftw.blogspot.com) and the now famous http://dear_raed.blogspot.com of the Baghdad Blogger. The protagonists of "What I Did Last Summer" are military and civilian units from the game Civilization 3.

Alex Dragulescu is a Romanian visual artist whose practice embraces both traditional and new media. His projects are revolving around social and political issues concerning video games, computer algorithms and code, networked art and artificial intelligence simulations. He is currently a graduate researcher at the University of California, San Diego at the Center for Research in Computing and the Arts.
